When Boys Become Men – 5 Good Tips for Managing Hair Loss

More than 70% of all men experience hair loss at some point. As the boy in you is gradually replaced by the adult man, you start to notice something: eyebrows and nose hairs grow longer and thicker, more hair appears on the body – and perhaps less on the head.

Men lose the hair on their head due to the hormone DHT, which breaks down hair follicles. This is linked to the male sex hormone. Medication and hair transplants are an option, but they are often expensive, complicated, and short-term. Our best advice is to make the most of what you have. That’s why we’ve gathered some good tips.

  • Eyebrows: Trim your eyebrows, don't pluck them – you'll have fewer over the years, and they may not grow back.
  • Nose hairs: Trim or wax them professionally. As with all craftsmanship, the DIY version is rarely impressive – and often very uncomfortable. In the clinic, we handle eyebrows, ear, and nose hairs in one session. It’s also part of the standard facial treatments with us. Unibrows are gently adjusted with tweezers.
  • Beard: If you have a beard, you can trim the edges on your cheeks and neck to keep it looking neat and well-groomed. A scruffy and slightly overgrown beard quickly sends out unkempt signals.
  • Body hair: Adjust the length and amount with a trimmer or waxing. Same concept as with everything else: naturalness is best when tamed and controlled. In the Clinic, we wax all body hair outside of the intimate area.

After any hair removal, we recommend using our post-hair removal starter kit to avoid irritation, bumps, and ingrown hairs.
